Netflix has rolled out a major update to its Moments feature, giving users greater control over how they save and share their favorite scenes from shows and movies. The enhancement allows viewers to set both a starting point and an end point when clipping a scene — a step up from the original version, which only let users choose where a clip began.Launched last year on mobile, Moments quickly became a fan favorite for capturing iconic sequences — from Wednesday Addams’ viral dance to musical debuts in KPop Demon Hunters. With the new update, users can now fine-tune the length of their clips, making them as short or as long as they like before saving them to the “My Netflix” tab for rewatching or sharing.
How the feature works
While watching on mobile:
- Tap the screen and hit the “Clip” button when a scene you love appears.
- Adjust both the start and end points to your preference.
- Save the clip to your library or share it directly on social media.
Shared clips link back to the exact scene in the Netflix app, encouraging others to jump straight into the moment.Netflix timed the update with the release of Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 — featuring guest star Lady Gaga — likely aiming to fuel fan engagement and social sharing around the hit series. The company says Moments has already been used across thousands of titles, and the new flexibility should make it even more popular.
