New advocate general takes charge

Ranchi: Newly appointed advocate general (AG) Rohitashya Roy assumed office on Monday. Outgoing AG Rajiv Ranjan handed over the charge to Roy, who was appointed by the state govt on June 14.

Meanwhile, additional advocate general Sachin Kumar also resigned citing personal reasons. Roy will now provide legal consultation to the govt as well as defend the govt in litigation against the state before the Jharkhand high court.
