SPSR Nellore District Collector O. Anand on Thursday announced a three to six months internship programme for fresh graduates and final year students who are motivated to step into public administration. The interns would likely be part of planning, monitoring and evaluating public programmes.
Along with the recent graduates/post-graduates, the final year students of Public Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Engineering or other relevant fields are eligible to apply for this internship programme. The last date to apply for the programme is 15 June. On successful completion, the interns will receive performance-based honorarium and certificate from the District Collectorate.
Revealing the details about the programme, Mr. Anand said that the selected interns will directly work with various administrative departments in the district. They will get first-hand exposure to policy implementation and government schemes. They will not be just observers but can even pitch low-investment and high-impact projects for implementation with district support.
Mr. Anand said that the interns can drive the real change at grassroot level by conducting field visits and assessing the real time programme implementation. They will also assist in drafting reports, policy briefs and presentations, and interact with community members to identify ground-level issues and solutions. They will also analyse data and provide insights to support administrative decisions.
