Ankita Surana Mahavir, a 2019-batch IPS officer, assumed charge as the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Sri Sathya Sai district on Friday. She said she would accord top priority to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of women and children. Following a brief puja at the district police office, Ms. Mahavir formally took charge and met Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar.

Ms. Mahavir was earlier posted as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer in Parvathipuram, Manyam district, before being promoted and transferred to Sri Sathya Sai district.

Speaking to the media, Ms. Mahavir said that maintaining peace, transparency, and public trust would be central to her approach. “Ensuring the safety of women and children will remain my foremost duty. I aim to deliver people-friendly and accountable policing with the cooperation of the public,” she said.

Senior police officers from Puttaparthi, Kadiri, Dharmavaram, and Hindupur divisions were present and congratulated Ms. Mahavir on assuming charge.
