HYDERABAD: Naraparaju Ramachander Rao on Tuesday issued a stern warning to BRS and Congress against dissemination of false information via social media. Also, he made it clear that "there is no distinction between newcomers and old-timers in BJP". Addressing party leaders after taking oath as the new president of BJP Telangana at a party event at Manneguda, Rao asserted that, should such activities continue, he would pursue legal action against those responsible for the misinformation.
He emphasized that, despite holding the title of president, he views himself primarily as a worker and servant of the people.'Relentless efforts'
The BJP leader acknowledged the sacrifices made by numerous party workers and leaders who contributed to the saffron party's current prominence, attributing the party's success to their relentless efforts. Dwelling on claims that BRS and Congress were utilising social media platforms to propagate misinformation, the new BJP chief challenged them to engage in open discourse, if they possess the courage. "They are cowards when they troll secretly. As a criminal lawyer, I will not hesitate to bring the masterminds of fake news to justice." Setting to rest murmurs in the party that there a tussle between the old guard and recent entrants, he clarified "there is no distinction between newcomers and old-timers", drawing a parallel to the way a child becomes a part of a family upon birth." He underscored the necessity of integrating the younger generation into the party, likening it to a river that requires fresh water to flow effectively.
Rao acknowledged the sacrifices of BJP leaders who had fallen victim to Naxalite violence, asserting that such sacrifices have been instrumental in the party's development, while also revealing that he was a survivor of Naxalite attacks.
