Sanchita Banerjee and Ruhaan Sapru at their wedding
After nearly 14 years of courtship, Bhojpuri actress Sanchita Banerjee and actor Ruhaan Sapru tied the knot at a quiet resort in Raipur on October 24. The celebration was intimate and emotional, with Ruhaan fulfilling his dream of performing to Kesariya at the sangeet.Sanchita shares, “We wanted a wedding that felt pure and heartfelt. It wasn’t about grandeur but about love, warmth, and the people who made it special. Everything felt right — the setting, the energy, and the emotions. It was simple yet deeply beautiful, just as we had imagined.”

Ruhaan, who has been part of Jhalli Anjali and Kalash Ek Vishwas, adds, “We explored many destinations such as Goa, Pune, Daman, Silvassa, and West Bengal, but none felt right until we saw this beautiful property in Raipur.
The moment we saw the mandap, we could picture every ritual and smile happening right there. We instantly knew this was the place.”

Recalling their first meeting, Sanchita says, “I met him during costume trials for a project. He walked in and didn’t even smile or talk to me, so I thought he had an attitude. Later, I realised he was just shy. Over time, I saw how humble and kind-hearted he was, and that’s when I knew I had fallen for him.
Our relationship has been built on love, trust, and care. Even after all these years, it still feels magical.”Ruhaan reminisces, “When I had to move to Delhi for Jhalli Anjali, she came to drop me at the airport. Seeing tears in her eyes made me realise I was leaving behind a part of myself. That’s when I knew she was the one.”

The couple plans to delay their honeymoon due to work. “I have a few projects to finish before taking a break,” says Sanchita. Ruhaan adds, “I’ve always loved cold places, so once winter sets in, we’ll plan something cosy, maybe in East India. For now, it’s time to reset and get back to work with hearts full of gratitude.”
