The notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang has purportedly issued a direct death threat to famous Indian rapper and singer Badshah. The threat, delivered via a social media post, was coupled with a brazen firing incident at a business premises in Panipat, Haryana, signalling a dangerous expansion of the syndicate’s extortion and moral policing activities.
The intimidation campaign began with a shooting at the office of two individuals, Garry and Shanky, located on Asandh Road in Panipat. The attackers identified the victims as operators of Western Union and alleged Hawala channels. In a statement claiming responsibility, gang members Randeep Malik and Anil Pandit (currently based in the USA) asserted that the firing was a “trailer" intended to punish those “damaging the country’s economy" by funneling wealth abroad.
The group claimed it had previously issued warnings over the phone, which were ignored. The message served as a stark ultimatum to all those involved in similar financial operations to “mend their ways" or face “dire consequences".
The most high-profile segment of the message was reserved for Badshah. The gang issued a “note" specifically addressing the singer, accusing him of “tarnishing the culture of Haryana". Recalling a previous security incident at Badshah’s club in 2024, the group warned that the previous encounter was merely a warning. The post concluded with a graphic threat, stating that the next time, they would “shoot him directly in the forehead".
This is not the first time the Bishnoi syndicate has targeted major figures in the Indian entertainment industry. The group, led by incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has previously been linked to high-profile threats against actors and singers, often citing “cultural preservation" or personal vendettas as justification.
The threat was signed off by an extensive list of associated gang leaders and members, including the Sampat Nehra, Jitender Gogi Maan, and Kala Rana groups. This collective display of names—ranging from Arzoo Bishnoi to local operatives like Ashish Malik and Sahil Duhan—highlights the sprawling, inter-state nature of the alliance.
Law enforcement agencies in Haryana and Punjab have been placed on high alert following the incident. Police are currently investigating the authenticity of the social media post and tracking the shooters involved in the Panipat attack.
