Trade speculation surrounding Maxx Crosby took a sharp turn after reports revealed what the Las Vegas Raiders would require to even consider a deal. The Dallas Cowboys have explored the idea.

Las Vegas has made its stance clear.Any serious conversation starts with a premium return. And the price is steep.

Las Vegas Raiders set massive asking price as Dallas quietly assesses options

According to ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler, it “doesn’t sound like Maxx will be requesting a trade.” Fowler added that it would take a “massive offer to pry him from the Raiders.” That update signaled that the leverage remains firmly with Las Vegas.

Soon after, Mike Florio reported on Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, that the Raiders are seeking two first-round picks and a player for the 28-year-old edge rusher.

Florio wrote that this mirrors a Micah Parsons-type return. He noted that the specific player component was not identified but would likely need to be a starting-calibre contributor.“Per a league source, the Raiders are looking for two first-round picks and a player for the 28-year-old edge rusher,” Florio wrote. “That’s what the Cowboys got for Micah Parsons in August, with the player being defensive lineman Kenny Clark.

The quality of player the Raiders want wasn’t specified. Presumably, it’s a starting-caliber contributor.”The message from Las Vegas is simple. They do not want to move Crosby. If they even contemplate it, the compensation must reflect elite value. The Dallas Cowboys’ interest connects to their defensive struggles last season. The team finished 32nd in points allowed. They recorded 35 sacks. While they ranked second in quarterback pressures with 197, they produced 108 quarterback hits.

That gap underlined the issue. There is also a coaching layer to this story. Dallas hired former Raiders defensive line coach Brandon Jordan as a pass rush consultant under new defensive coordinator Christian Parker. Jordan announced the move on social media, writing, “One Chapter Close Another One Opens! I’m back to the South now! Blessed to be the Pass Rush Consultant for America's Team!!”Maxx Crosby responded in the comments with “Yessssssssir.” The two have worked together since 2019, when the Raiders drafted Crosby in the fourth round. Their connection has remained strong through offseason training sessions. Still, familiarity does not change the math. The Raiders hold control. Crosby has not requested a trade. And unless Dallas meets the two first-round pick threshold plus a player, this blockbuster remains speculation rather than reality.
