The Bagalur police arrested a 38-year-old Nigerian national allegedly red handed for peddling MDMA. The police seized the drugs worth ₹2.3 crore from him and booked him under the NDPS and passport act .
The accused according to the police had come to the city on business visa in 2011 and started peddling drugs. The accused was arrested near Santhe circle while he was waiting for his customers to deliver the goods. Based on his information, the police raided his house in Kammanahalli and allegedly recovered more drugs .
The accused did not have any travel documents and was living in the city even after expiry of the visa terms for many years, the police said .
The city Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh has appealed to house owners to file form C if they have rented their houses to foreign nationals. This is mandatory and any violations will amount for legal action, he warned.
In a similar case, the women protection wing of the CCB arrested two women foreign nationals living illegally at a rented house in Parappana Agrahara. The police also has filed a case against the owner of the house for failing to inform the jurisdictional police and submitting form C, to provide details of the foreigner tenants.
