Nik Bonitto now has a secure future with the Denver Broncos. On Thursday, September 4, 2025, the 25-year-old linebacker signed a four-year extension with the team worth up to $120 million with $70 million guaranteed, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

It was a contract his agency stated they would not have agreed to if it weren't for Bonitto's stellar reputation. He was set to enter the final year of his rookie deal, but Bonitto's extension now has him with the Denver Broncos through 2029 and with a guaranteed to average $26.5 million per season, he will be one of the top 10 highest-paid edge rushers in the league.

Nik Bonitto's big payday comes a year after starting a career year in 2024.

In 2024, he was a full-time starter for the first time in his career, he had 13.5 sacks and 48 tackles during the season, he also had a 71-yard pick-six against the Indianapolis Colts.

His production earned him a Pro Bowl and a Second-Team All-Pro selection in 2024. Bonitto was drafted in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft from Oklahoma. Across three seasons, he has recorded 23 sacks and 92 tackles in 47 games.Speaking after the extension, General Manager George Paton said the Broncos “were not going to let a player like Nik get away,” showing how central he is to the team’s long-term plans.
