District Medical Officer (DMO) R. Rajaram has informed that a special control room has been set up in Kozhikode district to address public anxiety regarding the Nipah virus. The control room will function from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached at 0495-2373903.
The DMO has urged the public not to panic, stating that the patient who recently died of suspected Nipah had no contact with the public, and hence, the chances of the disease spreading are minimal. However, 43 health workers are under observation.
