Nitin Gadkari says E20 fuel criticism a paid campaign

At the CIAM convention of 2025, Union Minister for Roads, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari countered criticism of the E20 fuel rollout, describing a social media campaign against it as a 'paid campaign' to politically target him. Gadkari also revealed a significant proposal to boost the vehicle scrappage policy. He has urged the Finance Minister to consider offering GST relief to consumers who scrap their old vehicles and purchase new ones. The minister stated, "I have requested the Prime Minister and also told the Finance Minister that to increase scrapping... we can think about some GST [relief], so please consider it."
