Ara/Buxar: CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday unveiled and laid the foundation stone for 451 development projects in Bhojpur and Buxar districts with a combined cost of Rs 1,343 crore. The initiatives, covering roads, bridges, electricity, health, education and social welfare, are part of the govt’s continuing focus on infrastructure expansion and socio-economic development.In Bhojpur, the CM launched 432 projects worth Rs 740 crore, including 92 schemes valued at Rs 211 crore for road and bridge construction, electricity and building development, while inaugurating 329 completed projects worth Rs 87 crore. Key initiatives included widening the Ara-Buxar four-lane road (NH 922) between Babura and Chhapra at Rs 105 crore, a smart water drainage system in Ara worth Rs 87 crore and improvements to roads from Bampali to Pakri Chowk, Ara Zero Mile to Patar and Aranya Devi temple to the Ara-Buxar four-lane road, collectively amounting to over Rs 120 crore.Speaking at Jagdishpur playground during an NDA workers’ interaction programme, Nitish highlighted the govt’s commitment to youth employment. “The NDA govt is committed to the all-round development of the state. In the next five years, one crore jobs and employment opportunities will be provided to the youth of the state. The govt has already provided about 29 lakh jobs to the youth of Bihar,” the CM said. He added that the govt has also increased the social security pensions from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100, directly benefiting over one crore citizens.
In Buxar, the CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 19 projects worth Rs 603 crore, announced during the Pragati Yatra. Major works include strengthening and blacktopping the Buxar-Koilwar Ganga embankment at Rs 181 crore, widening the Bhojpur-Simri road at Rs 51 crore, Buxar Golambar-Jyoti Chowk road at Rs 41 crore, and improvements from Badi Masjid to Central Jail at Rs 36 crore. Other projects included the construction of the Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan Music College in Dumraon at Rs 13 crore, a two-lane Dhansoi bypass at Rs 98 crore, and 11 schemes related to health, electricity, and infrastructure worth Rs 32 crore.
Completed projects inaugurated amounted to Rs 147 crore.During the programme, the CM interacted with beneficiaries including pensioners, Jeevika self-help groups, Mamta and ASHA workers and artists. “Stay strong and continue progressing. The govt is committed to empowering women at every level. Your contribution to Bihar’s development is commendable,” Nitish said.Cheques and benefits under various schemes, including the CM Entrepreneur and Block Transport schemes, Basgeet Scheme and battery-operated tricycles under the Sambal Scheme, were distributed.Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, senior JD(U) leader Vijay Kumar Choudhary, and several state officials attended the events.
