CM Nitish Kumar in Buxar on Saturday
Buxar: As political momentum builds ahead of the 2025 assembly elections, CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday announced former minister Santosh Nirala as the JD(U) candidate from Rajpur (reserved) constituency in Buxar district.Addressing a gathering at Rajpur sports ground, Nitish urged people to back Nirala, highlighting his experience and grassroots connect. “Niralaji’s experience, his social reach and his commitment to development will give new direction to Rajpur. This election is between development and deception, and the NDA stands firmly with the agenda of progress,” he said.Alongside the political announcement, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for five major infrastructure and development projects, including widening the Buxar Golambar–bus stand road via Jyoti Chowk, upgrading the Bhojpur–Simri road, and constructing a two-lane Dhansoi bypass.
Other initiatives include strengthening the Buxar–Koilwar Ganga embankment and establishing the Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan Music College in Dumraon, aimed at promoting cultural heritage. The CM acknowledged the Centre’s support through recent Union Budget allocations for roads, industry, health, tourism, and flood control infrastructure, noting that Bihar has witnessed unprecedented development since the NDA took office. Urging party workers to engage actively with voters, he said, “Tell people about the transformation Bihar has undergone in the last 20 years. The opposition, especially the Congress, only speaks nonsense.
They never contributed to the development of Bihar.”
