NASHIK: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has floated bids for developing 18 major roads in Nashik city, following administrative approval from the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority.
This will be done at Rs 990.83 crore.NMC has set the deadline of March 2027 to complete the road development worksAround a 10km stretch of the Trimbak Road in Nashik city, from Khadkali Signal to Pimpalgaon Bahula up to the Nashik city limit, will be made of concrete at Rs168 crore. Earlier, the road was to be asphalted at Rs 100 crore. Later, the NMC administration revised the proposal to make this stretch of concrete at the cost of Rs 168 crore and sent it to the Kumbh Mela Authority for its approval.This stretch has been divided into two stretches for the tender process: one from Khadkali Signal to ITI Signal at Rs79.52 crore and another stretch from ITI Signal to Pimpalgaon Bahula on Trimbak Road (cost?).Other roads include Gangapur Road Bardan Phata to Sula Chowk at Rs56.86 crore, Trimbak Road Papaya Nursery to XLO Junction at Rs77.32 crore, XLO Junction to Gareware Chowk at Rs71.99 crore, Wadner Gate to Vihitgaon (Lam Road) at Rs71.98 crore, Vihitgaon (Lam Road) to Godavari Ghat via Bytco Chowk and Jail Road at Rs65.50 crore, Nandur Naka Bridge to Jatra Hotel at Rs71.20 crore, Lekhanagar to Vijay-Mamta Chowk via Wadalagaon at Rs38.49 crore, Sangam Bridge to Makhmalabad Road towards Godaghat via Mirchi Chowk, Amrutdham Chowk, Gunjalbaba Chowk, Tarwala Chowk and APMC Peth Road Signal at Rs83.26 crore, KTHM Bridge to Mahamarg Bus Stand via Old Gangapur Naka, Sharanpur Police Chowky, MICO Circle and Chandak Circle at Rs48.08 crore, and Vijay Mamta Chowk to Sangam Bridge via Takligaon at Rs22.19 crore.
Other road works include Ashok Stambh to Jehan Circle stretch of Gangapur Road at Rs37.81 crore, Jehan Circle to Gangapurgaon up to NMC limit at Rs 49.34 crore, Dindori Road stretch of the city from Nimani Chowk to NMC limit at Rs59.56 crore, Peth Road Canal to Meherdham at Rs76.49 crore, Datta Mandir Chowk to Sinnar Phata at Rs17.74 crore, and Janardan Swami Math to Laxminarayan Temple Bridge to Dream City Chowk at Rs14.99 crore.The flag hoisting of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela is to be held on October 31, 2026, while three major Amrit Snans (holy baths) will take place between Aug and Sept in 2027.
