NMMS 2024-25: 292 students selected from Mysuru

The results of the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) selection exam for the academic year 2024–25, conducted by the Union government, have been announced.

A total of 292 students from Mysuru district have been selected. Although the district was allotted 274 seats under this scheme, an additional 18 students have been selected beyond the allocated quota.

Students from classes 9 to 12 who are selected under this scheme will receive ₹12,000 per year, directly credited to their bank accounts.

As many as 78 students from Mysuru rural have been selected, besides 51 from Mysuru South and 42 from T Narasipura. The number of students selected in other taluks and blocks includes Nanjangud (34); Hunsur (24); Mysuru North (22); 18 students each from K.R. Nagar and H.D. Kote, and five students from Periyapatna.

As many as 98 students from Adarsha Vidyalayas have been selected, while 20 from Karnataka Public Schools (KPS), 58 from Government High Schools, and 45 from Government Higher Primary Schools have been selected. With this, 221 students (75.68%) were from government schools and 71 students (24.31%) were from aided institutions, according to an official release.

Students who were selected this year, as well as those already receiving the NMMS in previous years and continuing their studies in classes 9 to 12 in government or aided institutions in 2025–26, can apply through the National Scholarship Portal.

Details such as bank account information can be obtained from the NMMS nodal officers at the respective Block Education Offices or from the heads of their educational institutions, said the release from the principal of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Mysuru.
