Amid growing speculation over a possible leadership change in Karnataka, the Congress high command has firmly ruled out any plans to replace Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, at least for now. Senior party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Singh Surjewala, who was rushed to Bengaluru as a troubleshooter to address internal rumblings within the state unit, made the announcement.
Speaking to the media, Surjewala stated in clear terms that there is “no plan for leadership change" in Karnataka. His statement comes after days of rising unease and speculation over alleged factionalism within the ruling Congress, with reports suggesting that some leaders were lobbying for a change at the top. The party’s strong public message appears aimed at ending the uncertainty and restoring stability within the Karnataka government.
