No NOTA, VVPAT for local body polls

Ballot units used in the local body elections will not have the option for ‘NOTA’ (None of the Above) in them. Voter verifiable paper audit trails (VVPAT) also will not be used, officials of the State Election Commission said. In the rural local bodies, each voter will have three votes (to grama panchayat, block panchayat and district panchayat), while in the municipalities and Corporations, each voter will have one vote. Green protocol will be in play during all activities related to the local body polls.
