No sacrificial slaughter in public places during Bakrid in Sambhal, says district magistrate Rajender Pensiya

NEW DELHI: District Magistrate Rajender Pensiya on Tuesday announced that sacrificial slaughter in public places will not be permitted here during Bakrid and assured strict action against anyone attempting to disturb public order.A peace committee meeting, which included representatives from areas where Eid prayers will be conducted, was held to discuss the arrangements.The administration has designated 19 specific locations for animal sacrifices, following consultations with all parties involved. Pensiya clarified at a press briefing that sacrificial activities would not be permitted in public spaces or open areas.He confirmed that the prohibition on slaughtering certain animals remains in effect, with no violations reported over the previous five-year period.The DM assured that Eid prayers would proceed smoothly, with the authorities ensuring essential facilities including water, power and cleanliness arrangements.The administration has directed religious authorities to conclude sacrificial ceremonies by 3 pm during June 7 to June 9.Pensiya mentioned that precautionary actions have been implemented concerning approximately 900-950 persons. He emphasised that "Any attempt to breach the peace will be met with strict legal action."The District Magistrate additionally cautioned against sharing sacrificial videos on social media platforms.
