Notification for the elections to the Dharwad District Union of Working Journalists (DDUWJ) has been issued and the electoral process will start on October 19.
According to a press release issued by District Election Officer Manoj Patil, the process of filing nomination papers will begin on October 19.
Candidates can file nomination papers till October 27 and scrutiny of nomination papers will be taken up on October 28. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is October 30.
Polling, if necessary, will be held on November 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Patrakartara Bhavan on Lamington Road in Hubballi.
Counting of votes will be taken up the same day and results will be announced, Mr. Patil has said in the release.
The voter list has already been published and kept for verification at the office of DDUWJ on Lamington Road.
Objections, if any, should be submitted in written format to the Election Officer before Thursday.
Along with Mr. Manoj Patil, retired Assistant Director of Information C.P. Mayachari will officiate as Election Officer.
