McLaren's Lando Norris secured his maiden Formula 1 championship at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix season finale, becoming the 35th individual to win the biggest prize in motorsport.Max Verstappen of Red Bull won the race, with McLaren's Oscar Piastri taking second and Norris finishing third. This result helped Norris edge out Verstappen by two points in the final championship standings.Piastri claimed third place in the championship, ending 13 points behind his teammate Norris.Norris, aged 26, became Britain's first F1 champion since Lewis Hamilton's 2020 victory, preventing Verstappen from claiming his fifth consecutive title.The championship battle came down to the wire, with Norris leading Verstappen by 12 points and Piastri by 16 points entering the final race.The grid lineup saw Verstappen on pole position, Norris alongside him in second, and Piastri starting from third.For the championship to change hands, Verstappen needed Norris to finish fourth or lower, while Piastri required a win with Norris finishing outside the top five.
