Fielding queries by reporters on the Centre’s decision to extend the term of the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal by another year, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said Karnataka had no objection to the extension of the tribunal’s tenure, but urged the Centre to notify the tribunal’s earlier orders passed more than 10 years ago.
Pointing out that the dispute was between Andhra Pradesh and the newly carved out State of Telangana over sharing of waters, Mr. Siddaramaiah said there was no hurdle before the government to issue a gazette notification on the earlier orders.
To a question, Mr. Siddaramaiah ruled out the possibility of Karnataka losing its share of waters.
