OAVs, EMRSs register impressive scores in CBSE Class X results

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s flagship schooling systems, the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs), have delivered strong performances in the CBSE Class X Exam 2026, the results of which were announced on Wednesday.OAVs recorded an overall pass percentage of 94.25% in the 2025-26 academic session. Of the 16,966 students who appeared for the exam, 15,990 cleared it. The results featured exceptional performances, with eight students scoring above 99% and 1,598 securing over 90%.Shreyansh Nanda of OAV Patharchepa in Balangir and Ashirbad Mishra of OAV Satyabadi emerged as joint state toppers with 99.6%. Other top performers included Sonakshee Padhi (99.4%), Prayag Nayak (99.2%) from OAV Patharchepa and Anshuman Panda (99.2%) from OAV Sorada, the school and mass education department stated on Thursday.Similarly, EMRSs of the state outperformed both state and national averages, achieving a pass percentage of 96.45%, a significant jump from 93.07% last year. Of the 1,480 registered students from 27 EMRSs, 1,466 appeared for the exams. And no student failed the examination for the second consecutive academic year.Pranati Patro, joint director of the Odisha Model Tribal Education Society, said that the number of EMRSs achieving 100% results increased from 9 to 12, while schools with pass percentages between 90% and 99% rose from 11 to 13.

Schools with pass percentages below 90% dropped sharply from seven to just two. The state average stood at 93.66%, close to the national average of 93.70%.Among EMRS toppers, Mahesh Bhupathi Hembram and Hiramani Baskey from EMRS Dhanghera secured 94% each, followed by Dushmant Majhi (93.6%) from EMRS Bahalda, Aleena Alam (92.63%) from EMRS Karanjia and Laxmikanta Bhatra (91.8%) from EMRS Hirli.Officials in the ST and SC welfare department attributed the improved results in both school systems to enhanced academic monitoring, targeted interventions and the sustained efforts of teachers and school administrations.
