The Organisation for Counter Terrorist Operations (OCTOPUS) of the State police conducted a two-day security review meeting at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam. Led by OCTOPUS Deputy Superintendents of Police I. Tirupataiah and K. Sunkaraiah, the team interacted with Srisailam temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao, Srisailam Circle Inspector G. Prasada Rao, officials of revenue departments and others on Friday and Saturday (August 29-30, 2025).
Mr. Srinivasa Rao apprised the team of the existing security systems at Srisailam. He explained the functions of Armed Guards, Home Guards and the temple security staff and also the usage of walkie-talkies, doorframe metal detectors and other security gadgets. He also told them about the maintenance of queue lines, queue complex, and the additional queue lines arranged during important festivals like Mahashivratri and Ugadi Mahotsavams.
The EO also shared details about the number of devotees visiting the temple during normal days and festival days.
Mr. Sunkaraiah shared the immediate action plan that will be implemented in times of any unforeseen situation in coordination with the temple, police, revenue, medical and health, electricity and communications departments. Srisailam Circle Inspector Prasada Rao explained the measures to be taken to avoid any untoward situations at the temple.
