Officials receive training for LADC vote counting in Lawngtlai

Aizawl: A training of officials for counting of votes polled in the election to the 25-member Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) was conducted at Lawngtlai deputy commissioner’s conference hall on Sunday.The counting will be undertaken on Tuesday. Polling for the 12th LADC election was held last Tuesday.Lawngtlai district election officer (DEO) Donny Lalruatsanga, while addressing the training, expressed his appreciation to all officials involved. He highlighted that the voting process had been conducted smoothly without any difficulties. Referring to the demise of the polling officer of Lungtian-2 polling station on polling day, he said immediate support was provided to the officer’s family and that necessary steps were taken for processing ex-gratia payment.The DEO emphasised the need for accuracy and alertness during the counting process and urged the counting officials to undergo the training.
