Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu directed Engineering officials to ensure that all ongoing road and drainage construction works in the city are completed within the stipulated deadlines and in strict adherence to quality standards.

During an inspection on Monday, the Commissioner visited A.T. Agraharam Main Road, Nagaram Palem, Kundula Road, Brindavan Gardens, Krishna Nagar, Gujjanagundla, and S.V.N. Colony, where he reviewed road and drainage works, as well as instances of road encroachments. He issued specific instructions to the concerned officials to address deficiencies and remove encroachments immediately.

Emphasising the importance of quality, Mr. Srinivasulu warned that any lack of quality in construction would be treated as the responsibility of the respective Ward Secretary and Assistant Engineer. He insisted that curing and other technical procedures for CC roads and drains be carried out strictly as per prescribed standards, noting that incomplete or substandard works cause inconvenience to the public.

At S.V.N. Colony Colony main road, he instructed the Town Planning officials to clear road and drain encroachments. Responding to the public complaints in the ISKCON temple area, he directed the Public ealth and Engineering staff to clean vacant plots between houses and pump out stagnant rainwater from low-lying areas.

Inspecting sanitation works at Nagaram Palem road, the Commissioner instructed Sanitation inspectors to ensure that main roads were cleaned immediately after morning muster and that no garbage accumulates along road dividers.

Officials from the Town Planning, Engineering, and Public Health Departments, along with Secretariat staff, accompanied the Commissioner during the inspection.
