Navi Mumbai: Popular online marketplace OLX India has said its Elite Buyer Program has attracted 80,000 signups by May 2026, with the program aimed at making searching for and buying big-ticket items- like used cars and heavy machinery- safer, quicker, and more reliable.
The program was aimed at enhancing the buyer experience by helping serious, high-intent buyers to more relevant listings. The program is now expected to become a significant contributor to the company’s growth in the coming years, OLX’s parent CarTrade Tech Limited said in a press release.
“Crossing 80,000 Elite Buyer sign-ups in May 2026 is an important milestone for OLX India. The program has helped us improve the buyer experience by bringing more serious and engaged buyers into the marketplace. It is already contributing to stronger revenue growth and, over the coming years, we expect Elite Buyer to become a significant growth driver for the Company.” Varun Sanghi, Chairman of OLX India, said.
This move is aimed at a shifting focus by OLX from an online marketplace (or simply, a digital noticeboard), where anyone could post anything to becoming a dedicated used goods listing platform targeted to serious users.
Moving ahead, OLX aims to roll out an enhanced Elite Buyer AI program, which is aimed at boosting relevancy and helping users make better-informed decisions without worrying about cheating or fraud. OLX is also working on setting up a hyperlocal service model on the lines of quick commerce, where sellers can connect with Elite Buyers more efficiently.
