High drama unfolded in Parliament on Tuesday as Union Home Minister Amit Shah rose to speak on Operation Sindoor. Even before his address could begin, Opposition MPs erupted with chants of "PM, PM", demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself address the House on the issue.

Despite Shah’s repeated assurances that the Prime Minister was present in his office and fully briefed on the matter, the Opposition remained adamant, leading to a walkout from the Rajya Sabha. Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge slammed the government, calling Modi’s absence from the House an “insult to Parliament.”

Kharge said, "There was a demand from the Opposition that the PM should come to the House and give a reply. If the PM doesn't come to the House despite being present in Parliament premises, then it is an insult to the House." Union Home Minister Amit Shah had informed the House that the Prime Minister was present in his office after the Opposition kept making demands for a reply from the PM.

Amit Shah replied, "I want to respond to those asking about the Prime Minister. I am here addressing their concerns. PM Modi is very much in office. If I can respond and clarify, then why insist on hearing from him?"

Opposition MPs walked out of Rajya Sabha following their demand for the PM's reply in the House on Operation Sindoor.
