MANGALURU: An accused who allegedly submitted forged documents to the court to obtain bail for an accused person was arrested by Uppinangady Police on Thursday. The accused is Abdul Hasheem, 34, a resident of Paduvanur village, Puttur.According to the police, a case was registered against an individual for cheating by submitting fake documents to the Principal District and Sessions Court, Dakshina Kannada, Mangaluru, and securing bail for an accused by falsely claiming ownership of land belonging to a resident of Puttur. The accused misled the court by presenting an RTC document of land owned by a Puttur resident as if it belonged to him. Based on this, Uppinangady Police Station registered under Sections 417, 419, 467, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).During the investigation, it was found that the accused created forged documents, and signed fake papers with the intent to cheat the court and furnish a valuable surety bond. The accused was produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
