Industries Minister P.Rajeeve launched an online platform for marketing the products of textile units functioning under the Industries department at a function held here on Wednesday.
He said that the State government’s vision is to strengthen all public sector institutions by making them competitive and profitable.
“If a project is not profitable, the goal is to bring out the next one. As many as 21 PSUs have achieved profits this year. PSUs are now introducing products that are in sync with the changing needs of the times and satisfy the general needs of the society,” he said.
The online platform www.bpt.cditproject.org has been developed under the leadership of the Board for Public Sector Transformation (BPT) with the help of C-DIT to sell the products of all textile units through e-bidding and e-auction. As part of the event, value-added products developed by various public sector undertakings were also launched. Institutions including Keltron, Keltron Component Complex, Kerala State Industrial Enterprises, Handicrafts Development Corporation, CAPEX, Kerala State Coir Corporation, Foam Mattings Ltd, Kerala State Coir Machinery Corporation and Hanveev introduced a diverse range of value-added products.
The products launched by Keltron includes radiant baby warmer, infant warming wrapper, Bluetooth-enabled hearing aid, smart traffic controller, enforcement camera with anti-glare technology, piezo electric vibration sensor and low-frequency ultrasonic transducer element. The Keltron Component Complex launched a supercapacitor-powered electric trolley and a supercapacitor-powered electric wheelchair among other products.
V.K. Prasanth, MLA, presided over the function. Principal Secretary of the Industries and Commerce Department, A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish, and Officer on Special Duty Annie Jula Thomas, BPT Executive Chairman Ajithkumar.K, BPT Secretary member Satishkumar P, officials and business partners of the Department of Industries, BPT and public sector enterprises also attended the event.
