The State government has rolled out an online slot booking system for registering property documents at all the 144 sub-registrar offices in the State on Monday (June 2). This follows the success of a pilot project in 47 offices in two phases since April 10.
The new system aims to save time for property buyers and sellers and provide better services in a transparent and corruption-free manner. According to Minister for Revenue (Registrations & Stamps) Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, the system has yielded positive results, with 94% of people expressing satisfaction.
As part of the initiative, an AI-powered chatbot named Medha has been made available to help people find registration office locations and check slot availability. The chatbot can be accessed through WhatsApp number 82476 23578.
Over 45,000 documents have been registered through the slot booking system during the pilot phase. To further improve the registration process, a developer registration module will be introduced to prevent double registration and check illegalities, the Minister said.
Additionally, Aadhaar-e-signature is being introduced on a trial basis in two sub-registrar offices — Armoor in Nizamabad district and Kusumanchi in Khammam district — and it will soon be implemented State-wide.
The slot booking system allows bookings from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding lunch time) , with five walk-in registrations allowed from 5 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. in case of emergencies.
