HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP’s newly-appointed president N Ramchander Rao on Monday asserted that the people of the state are increasingly turning to the BJP, recognising it as the only party capable of delivering a ‘golden and true democratic govt’ that meets the aspirations of the poor, farmers, and youth.Kicking off his two-day tour of Nalgonda and Suryapet districts, Rao aimed to galvanise party cadre ahead of the upcoming local body elections, declaring that the BJP would contest every seat—from village panchayats to zilla parishad (ZPTC) levels—on its own strength.Rao launched a scathingattack on the Congress govt, accusing it of betraying the people with hollow promises. “Farmers, students, and the unemployed were misled.
The people are now realising the mistake of electing Congress, just as they had earlier seen through the BRS,” he said, calling on BJP workers to prepare for an intensified agitation against what he described as the ‘anti-people’ policies of the ruling party.
“The Congress govt has failed to live up to even its basic promises. People across Telangana now believe thatonly the BJP can offer a stable and development-driven governance model—a viksit Telangana with a doubleengine sarkar,” he said, referring to the BJP’s model of alignment between state and central govts.
On the ration card issue, Rao accused the Revanth Reddy-led govt of politicising welfare by issuing new ration cards only to Congress supporters. He pointed out that the central govt under PM Modi is supplying free rice through the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, and criticised the state for removing Modi’s photographs from ration shops while taking undue credit for the scheme.“It is the Centre that is feeding the poor. The Telangana govt is trying to steal credit while denying rightful access to many poor families,” the BJP leader charged.
