In an exciting display of culinary prowess, Patna held a spirited curd-eating contest where contestants raced against the clock to consume a staggering amount of curd within just three minutes. Kulkul Kumar and Rozi Parveen triumphed in their respective categories, proving their mettle with jaw-dropping eating skills
Patna: In just three breathless minutes, competitors gulped down more than three kilos of curd each, turning spoons into speed tools and stomachs into ticking timers at the annual “Dahi Khao Inam Pao” competition organised by the Vaishali Patliputra Milk Producers Union at the Patna Dairy Project in Phulwarisharif on Tuesday.Held regularly since 2011, the event has grown into a much-awaited spectacle over the past 15 years. This year, 600 participants from Bihar, Jharkhand and other states registered for the competition while 400 finally took part. Each contestant was given exactly three minutes to consume as much curd as possible.In the men’s category, Kulkul Kumar from Barh emerged winner after polishing off an impressive 3.105kg of curd.
Anil Kumar from Sadisopur followed closely with 3.075kg to secure second place while Ajit Kumar from Sampatchak finished third with 2.925kg.The women’s category saw even fiercer competition with Rozi Parveen from Alinagar clinching first place by consuming 3.340kg of curd. Sunita Devi from Bazar Samiti was a close second with 3.325kg while Jyotsna Kumari from Kankarbagh claimed third place with 3.305kg.In the senior men’s category, Harendra Rai from Danapur topped the chart by consuming 3.550kg of curd.
Pranay Shankar Kant from Jehanabad secured second place with 2.885kg, followed by Md Khurshid Alam from Birla Colony, who consumed 2.875kg for third place.Among senior women, Madhu Devi from Rajiv Nagar won first place after eating 2.450kg of curd. Vibha Devi from Rajendra Nagar finished second with 1.455kg while Asha Devi from Anisabad came third with 1.054kg.Chairman Sanjay Kumar said, “Consumers trust the quality of our products as hands do not touch the milk during collection or packaging.” He explained that the business is run by farmers, who directly receive profits from the sale of milk and dairy products, adding, “The union aims for cattle rearers to achieve prosperity.”Prizes were distributed by Sanjay Kumar along with Rupesh Raj, Basukinath Singh and Kamta Yadav. Officials and employees of the Patna Dairy Project were also present at the event.
