Patna: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will conduct the 71st preliminary examination on Sept 13 with 470,588 applicants competing for 1,298 posts.In a press briefing on Thursday, the BPSC detailed the arrangements for the test.
The two-hour paper, scheduled from 12 noon to 2pm, will comprise 150 questions with one-third negative marking for every incorrect answer.
Admit cards can be downloaded from 6 September, while details of exam centres will be released on Sept 11.The examination will be conducted at 92 centres across 37 districts and efforts are being made to allot women candidates centres in or near their home districts. To ensure integrity, all centres will have biometric attendance, OMR scanning, CCTV surveillance and jammers.
Candidates have been instructed to report by 11am, as no entry will be permitted thereafter.In a new initiative, the commission has introduced a public grievance system for the prelims. After the examination, candidates may lodge serious complaints within 24 hours, accompanied by a sworn affidavit and supporting evidence. The district magistrate will then investigate and submit a report to the commission within 72 hours.The BPSC added that this grievance redress mechanism was first introduced for the 70th mains examination and is now being extended to the prelims.
