More than 42.74 lakh voters’ names have been deleted from the voter list in Madhya Pradesh following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, according to the draft electoral rolls released by the administration.
Out of a total 5,74,06,143 voters in the state, 5,31,31,983 voters submitted enumeration forms during the revision process. Officials said 31.51 lakh voters (5.49%) were marked as shifted or absent, 8.46 lakh voters (1.47%) were removed due to death, and 2.77 lakh voters (0.48%) were found to be enrolled at more than one location.
The claims and objections process will remain open until January 22, 2026, after which the final voter list will be published on February 21.

Among Bhopal’s Assembly constituencies, the highest number of deletions was recorded in Govindpura (97,052), followed by Narela (81,235), Madhya (67,304), South-West (63,432), Huzur (65,891), North (51,058) and Berasia (12,903).
