Patna: A 35-year-old man, who was the owner of some commercial and residential buildings, died after allegedly falling from the tenth floor of an apartment under Kotwali police station area in the state capital in the early hours of Saturday.The deceased was identified as Vikram Singh, son of late Ajit Singh, a resident of RPS More. Vikram was native of Kulhariya village in Bhojpur district.The incident occurred around 2am, after Vikram had dinner with his wife and some friends. The police suspect that the victim accidentally fell or was pushed by someone, which led to his immediate death.DSP-I (law and order), Krishna Murari Prasad, said Vikram and his wife, Deepti Singh, visited a friend’s apartment on Frazer Road near Dak Bunglow crossing around 11pm on Friday and dined with three others.
“It appears that they consumed intoxicating substances during dinner. When they were leaving the apartment, Vikram fell off from the duct from the tenth floor of the 11-storey building. Prima facie, it appears that he became unbalanced under the influence of alcohol and fell.
His wife was present during the incident,” he said.“Police were alerted around 3am and they secured the spot before sending Vikram’s body to the PMCH for the postmortem.
The dinner was arranged at one Nadal Yunus’s apartment, who has been detained by the police along with his friend, Hussain. One of his friends, Rohit Kumar, who was also at the dinner, fled the scene and is absconding. The police are interrogating those present there to establish the sequence of the incident,” the DSP told this reporter.The forensic science laboratory team was called to the spot, besides police are checking the CCTV footage to gather evidence. Vikram’s wife was also questioned by the police team.According to the police, Vikram was one of the owners of some commercial and residential buildings, including Kulhariya complex on Ashok Rajpath.
