Western Army Commander Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar on Tuesday cautioned that Pakistan may attempt to replicate the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, wherein 26 civilians had lost their lives.

In a stern warning to the neighbouring country, Katiyar also warned that any fresh attempt at cross-border mischief would invite a “strong response" from India.

Speaking on India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, the large-scale counter-terror operation launched along the western border, Lt Gen Katiyar said, “In ‘Operation Sindoor’, Pakistan was given a befitting reply, but Pakistan can never mend its ways."

“Pakistan could launch another attack like the one in Pahalgam, we have our eyes on every one of its moves," he said.

Reaffirming India’s readiness, the Western Command chief added, “If Pakistan indulges in such mischief again, it will face a strong response."

Operation Sindoor, launched after the Pahalgam terror attack, was aimed at neutralising infiltrating terrorist groups and dismantling their launch pads across the Line of Control.
