Palakkad to host State school science fest from November 7

Palakkad town will host this year’s State school science festival from November 7. The four-day event will be held at six venues. They will be Kanikkamatha Girls English Medium Higher Secondary School, MES Higher Secondary School (Olavakode), Bharatha Matha Higher Secondary School, Government Higher Secondary School (Big Bazar), BEM Higher Secondary School, and Palakkad Fort Maidan.

The key event of the science fair will be held at Bharatha Matha school. A seminar and quiz competitions will be held on the inaugural day.

Remaining days

On November 8, 9 and 10, competitions will be held in working model, still model, and research type projects for high school and higher secondary categories, and teaching aide and teachers projects.

Work experience and craft mela will be held at BEM school. On November 8, a special school mela will be held. On November 9, high school general category live competitions will be held. For higher secondary and vocational higher secondary, live competitions will be on November 10.

Social science mela, atlas making, elocution, and local history writing competitions will be held at Big Bazar school.

Maths mela will be held at Olavakode school. Live competitions will be on November 8.

IT mela will be held at Kanikkamatha school. Competitions in digital painting and presentations will be held on November 8. Vocational higher secondary expo will be held at Palakkad Fort Maidan.

Public entry will be allowed from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at work experience mela.

A career fest will be held as part of the science fair at Palakkad Fort Maidan on November 8 and 9. The fest will be organised by roping in 16 higher education institutions in government and private sectors.

A career seminar organised for higher secondary students will be held at Government Moyan Model Girls Higher Secondary School here on November 9 morning.

V.K. Sreekandan, MP, inaugurated the pandal construction for the science festival here on Tuesday. General Education joint director A. Aboobacker presided over the function.
