The ‘Panula Jatara – 2025’ organised by the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development department commenced with great enthusiasm across the State on Friday.

Marking the launch of the programme, inauguration ceremonies were held for development programmes successfully completed during last year’s work fair, and foundation stones were laid for new projects. The government has allocated ₹2,198 crore for the second phase of the Panula Jatara (works fair), with over one lakh development projects to be undertaken across the State. The government will construct Gram Panchayat buildings, Anganwadi buildings, cattle sheds, check dams, plastic waste units, community toilets, rural roads, toilets in schools, and other rural infrastructure projects.

Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya aka Seethakka formally launched the ‘Panula Jatara’ programme at Puttala Bhupathi village in Kothaguda Gangaram mandal of Mahabubabad district.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that it was heartening to see infrastructure, sanitation, employment opportunities and agriculture-related works being initiated simultaneously in the villages. “This time, over one lakh projects are being started with a budget of ₹2,198 crore, which will be a new milestone in the history of rural development in the State,” she added.

Several Ministers, including Damodar Raja Narsimha, Ponnam Prabhakar, Adluri Laxman, and Gaddam Vivek, along with government advisor Shabbir Ali and MLAs, participated in the programme at different places in the State.
