Paradip port secures top honours at Sagar Aankalan Awards

Ashis SenapatiKendrapada: Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has achieved a major national distinction by securing top rankings at the prestigious Sagar Aankalan Awards, organised by the ministry of ports, shipping and waterways.The achievement reaffirms Paradip port’s position as one of India’s best-performing ports and highlights its excellence in cargo handling, operational efficiency and logistics performance. The awards were presented during a special ceremony held in Mumbai on Friday night, where Paradip Port Authority chairman P L Haranadh received the prestigious Sagar Aankalan Awards from the Union minister for ports, shipping and waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal.The ceremony brought together senior dignitaries from the maritime sector. The recognition reflects Paradip Port Authority’s outstanding performance in cargo handling, operational efficiency, and logistics excellence, reinforcing its position among India’s leading ports. PPA also secured third rank under the Sagar Aankalan Certificate for Logistics Port Performance for its outstanding overall performance in handling container cargo in the category of ports handling less than 0.5 million TEUs (20-foot equivalent units).
