KALYAN: Amidst the speculations of Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray's parties coming together, for the first time on Saturday, the leaders and workers of both parties united to corner the ruling party over the delay in the work of the Palava flyover in Dombivli. The work on the Palava flyover was carried out by MSRDC for the last 7 years and is still not completed. After missing the deadlines for this flyover multiple times, the opposition questioned the state govt over the delay. Recently, Shiv Sena's local MLA Rajesh More inspected the work of this flyover with a team from the concerned agencies and claimed that the flyover would be ready for the public by May 31 of this year. However, this did not happen.
On Saturday, when the time for the promise made by More ended, the local leaders of both parties, UBT's Kalyan District President Dipesh Mhatre and MNS's former MLA Pramod (Raju) Patil, gathered with their supporters to corner the govt over the delay in the construction of the flyover and the problems being faced by the public due to it.During this, Shiv Sena (UBT) District President Dipesh Mhatre said that the govt was building this important flyover for 7 years but was not able to complete it yet.
Mhatre mentioned that local MLA More recently promised that the flyover would be ready on May 31, so they came to see the inauguration today, but like before, it was just an assurance from him.During this, the demand from the workers of both parties was evident that both parties should come together in the future by forming an alliance. Dipesh Mhatre also stated that if both parties come together in the state, it will be in the public's interest, and this is the wish of all party workers, including himself.
However, the final decision about the alliance will be taken by the senior party leaders.Former MNS MLA Raju Patil said that on the demand of UBT leaders, they all came together for the benefit of the city. As far as the alliance is concerned, the decision about the same will be taken by senior leaders of both parties, which will be acceptable to everyone. After both parties came together in the interest of the city, it will be interesting to see whether the senior leaders of both parties also come together for an alliance in the state.
