Patriots’ Stefon Diggs is the father of Aileen Lopera’s baby, confirms paternity test; Cardi B’s boyfriend continues to face legal heat

The wide receiver, who’s also famously dating Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B, has been at the center of a legal dispute with Instagram model Aileen Lopera over the paternity of her daughter.

Stefon Diggs confirmed as father, custody case continues

Aileen Lopera’s attorney, Tamar Arminak, spoke to Page Six about the ruling and its implications. “The paternity has been confirmed. Mr. Diggs is the father of the child,” she said. “Now that the child's paternity has been established and Mr. Diggs has acknowledged his daughter, my client hopes they can work toward being great parents to their child.” Arminak also cautioned that the legal matter is not yet fully resolved.

“The case has not yet been dismissed and will move forward if the parties are not able to resolve [their issue] themselves,” he added.The legal drama has been brewing since December 2024, when Lopera filed a paternity suit seeking full legal and physical custody of her daughter while limiting Diggs to visitation rights. She also requested financial compensation for pregnancy-related medical expenses and attorney fees.

After Charliee’s birth in April, the case remained active through the summer. Diggs responded in July, requesting a DNA test to determine paternity.

He admitted he was “not certain” whether he was the father at the time, and proposed joint custody and shared expenses if the results confirmed parentage.Adding another layer to the story, Diggs recently made headlines when Cardi B revealed in a September interview on CBS Mornings that she is expecting a child with him.

“I'm having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs,” Cardi said. “I'm excited. I'm happy. I feel like I'm in a good space. I feel very strong, I feel very powerful that I'm doing all this work, but I'm doing all this work while I'm creating a baby.”Now, with paternity legally established, both Diggs and Lopera must decide whether to settle privately or continue the court battle.
