Although he is excited about the chance to represent his country, Skenes admitted that he still misses being with his Pirates teammates during spring preparation.“As excited as I am to be here right now, I’m a little upset that I’m not in camp,” Skenes said. “Kinda missing out.”Skenes also recently pitched three innings in an exhibition game against the San Francisco Giants. He allowed one run on one hit in the first inning, struck out four batters and retired the final nine hitters he faced.
