The post gave followers a quick look at the couple’s travel day while Skenes continues his preparations with Team USA. Over the last two seasons, the right hander has quickly become one of baseball’s most talked about young players after winning the National League Rookie of the Year and the NL Cy Young Award.

The travel update also comes as Skenes recently spoke about representing Team USA during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show at USA Baseball camp.“It’s a different vibe in camp right now,” Skenes said on The Pat McAfee Show at USA Baseball camp on Monday. Although he is excited about the chance to represent his country, Skenes admitted that he still misses being with his Pirates teammates during spring preparation.“As excited as I am to be here right now, I’m a little upset that I’m not in camp,” Skenes said. “Kinda missing out.”Skenes also recently pitched three innings in an exhibition game against the San Francisco Giants. He allowed one run on one hit in the first inning, struck out four batters and retired the final nine hitters he faced. The outing offered an encouraging sign as the young pitcher continues preparing for the upcoming World Baseball Classic with Team USA.
