Pawa, an internationally acclaimed Buddhist singer
MUMBAI: The historic city of Bodhgaya is set to resonate with the sounds of peace and devotion this December.Pawa, an internationally acclaimed Buddhist singer, composer, and songwriter, has been chosen to compose the official theme song for the 20th International Tripitaka Chanting Ceremony, scheduled from 2 to 13 December 2025.The annual event, one of the most revered Buddhist gatherings in the world, brings together monks, nuns, and devotees from over 50 countries to recite the Tripitaka and preserve the teachings of the Buddha. This edition is particularly significant, marking two decades of the grand spiritual tradition, according to a release.
Speaking about the event, Pawa said: “I am honoured to receive this opportunity to compose the theme song for such a sacred and devotional event.
This song is my humble gift to the Sangha and to the global Buddhist community.”Wangmo Dixey, president of the International Buddhist Association of America (IBAA), welcomed the decision, praising Pawa’s artistry. “He is a gifted singer and composer, capable of capturing the essence of devotion and compassion. This is the perfect choice for the occasion,” said Dixey.Rajesh Chandra and Aman Kamble, key committee members, praised Pawa’s unique talent, noting that his music reflects the teachings of the Buddha and touches hearts worldwide.
Celebrated globally for his meditation concerts and soulful compositions that promote the Buddha’s philosophy of love, friendship, and compassion, Pawa’s music has reached audiences across cultures and continents. Some of his most cherished chants include Bliss of Nirvana, Jewel Discourse, Radiant Love, and Noble Virtues of Buddha. His landmark album Sambuddha became a spiritual anthem, featuring popular tracks such as Sukh, Shraddha, Pavitrata, Kaary, Sanskaar, and Maitri.With a mission to create inner peace leading to world peace through music, Pawa continues to be a source of pride for India, the birthplace of the Buddha. As Bodhgaya prepares to welcome thousands of practitioners this December, the world awaits the unveiling of Pawa’s new composition—a song of unity, devotion, and compassion that will echo across the sacred land where the Buddha attained enlightenment.
