UDUPI: A pedestrian died after being hit by a speeding car near Koppalangadi on Sunday. The deceased is Peer Mohammed.According to a complaint filed by Mohammed Irshad, the incident occurred when he was walking towards Noorul Huda Madrasa to offer prayers.
At the same time, his acquaintance Peer Mohammed, who lived on the opposite side of the road, was also heading to the mosque.As Peer Mohammed reached the divider on National Highway 66, a black car reportedly driven at high speed and in a rash manner by Mohammed Jasim hit him. The impact flung him onto the car’s bonnet and windshield before he fell on the road, it is alleged.Irshad and locals rushed to help and shifted the injured man to a hospital in an ambulance. However, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.Kaup Police have registered a case under Sections 281 and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
