The Pentagon released footage of B-2 Stealth bombers taking off from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri as part of Operation Midnight Hammer, the high-stakes US air campaign that struck Iran’s key nuclear facilities. The video showed the stealth jets- nicknamed “Spirits"- rolling out of hangars and taking off. The footage then cuts to their return following the strike, completing a non-stop 37-hour mission that spanned over 11,400 kilometers, with multiple mid-air refuels en route to and from Iran.
Bunker Busters Deployed To Hit Iran’s Deep Nuclear Sites
The B-2 bombers, each worth approximately $2 billion, carried and deployed the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP)- a 13-ton “bunker buster" designed to obliterate deeply buried nuclear infrastructure. Each aircraft can carry two GBU-57s, which pierce through rock or concrete before detonating.

Operation Midnight Hammer Hits Fordow, Isfahan, Natanz
Under the codename ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’, the United States struck Iranian nuclear sites at Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz. The mission was part of a broader US show of force amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran and growing concern over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.
“It was an incredible and overwhelming success," US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said after Air Force General Dan Caine confirmed the scale of the operation, disclosing that 75 precision-guided munitions were deployed, including 14 GBU-57 bombs, more than two dozen Tomahawk missiles and support from over 125 military aircraft.
What Donald Trump Said On Iran Nuclear Sites After US Strikes
US President Donald Trump said Iran will “never" be able to rebuild its nuclear program following the US airstrikes on its key nuclear facilities, calling the sites “demolished" and “under rock." Donald Trump praised the US military’s execution of the operation, especially the B-2 bomber pilots, saying they “did it better than anybody could even imagine" and dismissed reports suggesting the strikes had limited effect.
