People should condemn derogatory remarks on Amaravati women, says MSME Minister

Minister for MSME Kondpalli Srinivas on Tuesday urged the people from every section of the society to condemn the derogatory remarks made on the women of Amaravati region and other parts of the State.

Addressing the media here, he said that the media channel owned by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s family had initiated a debate on their channel to malign the image of Amaravati region, which was being developed as an international city by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

“Journalists and others should refrain from making such derogatory remarks on individuals, institutions and areas as it would hurt the sentiments of many people. The TDP government would not tolerate comments made against even YSRCP leaders and it was evident with the arrest of TDP loyalists and social media activists,” said Mr. Srinivas.

He defended the arrest of senior journalist Kommineni Srinivas and said that the latter failed to stop participants from using harsh words during a live debate.
