Ahmedabad: Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) 2026 for admission to engineering, pharmacy and planning courses will be held on June 27 and 28 at Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, and Rajkot.

Conducted by Gujarat Technological University (GTU), the exam serves students who either skipped national-level exams like GATE or GPAT, or failed to secure a qualifying score.Official data shows that 5,107 candidates have registered, with around 4,656 expected to appear. Eligible students can now download their admit cards directly from their online candidate login portals. In total, over 10,000 postgraduate seats are up for grabs across the state. This includes 6,405 engineering seats across 86 govt, grant-in-aid, and self-financed institutions; 3,333 pharmacy seats across 75 colleges; and 289 planning seats across 10 institutes. While PGCET opens doors for those looking to improve on low national scores or get a second chance, the final admissions merit list will still prioritise candidates with valid GATE or GPAT scores.
