In a major aviation tragedy, an Air India flight en route to London crashed minutes after it took off from the Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon.
In the aftermath of the unfortunate incident, pictures and videos from the crash site emerged showing that the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner plane crashed into the resident doctors' hostel of BJ Medical College civil hospital in Ahmedabad, which suffered heavy damage.
An image taken from the crash site showed the tail (rear-end) of the fuselage crashing on the top floor of the hostel.
Pictures from inside the hostel showed the debris of the fuselage stuck in the back wall of the building.
In one of the pictures, the debris of the rear wheels of the plane could be seen having crashed into the hostel building wall.
A long-shot of the crash site shows crow of people gathered outside the building while the crashed plane could be seen on the top of the building.
An inside view of the hostel building showed the canteen of the hostel which was damaged in the crash, with food on the table during lunchtime.
The portion of the resident doctor's hostel building where the plane crashed caught fire after the incident with visuals showing that the kitchen damaged in the blaze as well.
