A six-year-old boy in Telangana's Khammam, who had suffered throat pain for over a year, found relief after doctors removed a plastic pellet stuck there.

Shanmukha had unknowingly swallowed a plastic pellet from a toy gun while playing over a year ago. After that, he complained of persistent pain in his throat.

Despite multiple consultations with different doctors, the cause remained undiagnosed. Finally, Shanmukha's parents consulted an ENT specialist at a private hospital in Khammam.

Upon examination, Dr Praveen Kumar suspected the presence of a foreign object lodged in the boy’s throat. He then opted for an endoscopic procedure and successfully removed the plastic palette that was stuck in the child's throat.

Speaking to the media, Dr Kumar explained he used an endoscope inserted through the oesophagus to successfully retrieve the plastic pellet stuck in Shanmukha's throat.

The child is recovering, and his parents expressed gratitude to the doctor and medical team for ending their son's prolonged pain and discomfort.
